We get it. This whole axe throwing is really different. How does this all work? Let us
take a crack at addressing some of the common questions that we get…
What are your hours?

Friday 5:30p – 12:30a
Saturday 3:00p – 12:30a
We are also open upon request for larger groups needing dates earlier in the week.
Do you serve alcohol?
The answer is yes! We have 8 rotating beer taps with at least one cider always flowing.
We also serve 3 red wines, and 2 white wines.
Do you serve liquor?
We do not serve liquor, as we like to save the whiskey drinking for throwing axes in the
I am hungry… feed me?
We have a full kitchen with items that will treat ya’ …
How much is it?
The cost is $40 per person and covers a 2-hour throwing session. Each group has a
highly trained axe throwing instructor that will lead you through practice, round robin,
and a final tournament.
Beer and Wine can be purchased the bar with cash or card.
So… you take walk-ins?
We have walk-in throwing night every Thursday from 6:00p – 9:00p for $20. This is a
chance for a smaller crew to come in and throw.
NOTE: These nights are not for private events and if you don’t want to throw with other people you will want to book a private
Is this a private club? Or can anyone just come by?
No, we are not a private club. While we do hold a lot of private events, like company
holiday parties – we are open to the public just like a bowling alley. But everything is group based, and if you want to throw on a Friday or Saturday — you’ve got to book your group in advance here.
Group based you say? How many of my posse should come along?
Our most common group size is 12. But we can accommodate groups of up to 50
people at a time (subject to availability). And yes, you can bring 11 people. But do your
best to grab your mailman on the way so you’ve got an even number. If you have a
smaller group, you are able to book online but we always encourage you to bring more
If my group books a time slot, does that mean I’m having a private group
Not at all! That’s just not how we do things. We operate our axe throwing sessions in a
deliberately intimate club setting. The goal of the Hatchets & Hops experience is to
bring people together, cross boundaries, and step outside of your comfort zone. We
often combine small groups to optimize that experience. If you leave without making
new friends, you’re doing something wrong!
I see you’ve got specific time slots. Do you hold me to that?
Yes. You’ll see in our terms and conditions when you book a group session that if your
entire party hasn’t arrived by 15 minutes after your scheduled start time, you’ve gotta
forge ahead – or risk us giving away the time slot. This is due both to the lengthy waiting
list we’ve got for people to get in and throw, and the community side of the experience.
Combining groups means we’ve got to respect one another’s time.
Our event is booked! But, something’s come up and we can’t make our date. What now?
Here at Hatchets & Hops, we cater your event to your group. Each of our instructors is
scheduled specifically for your event, ready to teach you to throw. For this reason,
deposits are non-refundable, and it’s generally – not possible for us to reschedule. But
we understand that sometimes things come up. If you need to reschedule your throwing
date, at your earliest notice of needing to reschedule, send us an email and we will see
what we can do. No Promises on this one.
I booked the deposit and I’m bringing a bunch of my friends, can we split the
Unfortunately, due to a change in our payment processing systems, we are no longer
able to split the remaining balance of your throwing session. We apologize for the
inconvenience! Ask your friends for $40 before the event starts and leave with cash in
Some of the folks in my group bailed. Should I cancel? Can I cancel?
It sucks that your friends bailed. We hate it when people leave us holding the bag. But
you’ve gotta find some people to replace them. You are responsible to pay for
the group size that originally booked.
Some of my friends got jealous, and want to come throw after I already booked…
can I add people?
Absolutely, you can make a small booking request on the website and send us an email
to let us know that you want these groups to be combined. If they are under the same
name… we can usually figure it out.
Do I have to be a burly hulk of a man-bear to do this?
Not at all! This sport is truly accessible and isn’t a feat of strength. It’s about technique,
paying attention to the instructors, and relaxing enough to enjoy yourself. The only thing
we take super seriously is safety.
Is there an age limit?
Yes. Our facility is limited to those 21 years of age and over. Even if you are not
participating, you cannot enter the facility if you are under 21.
Can I come watch my friends if I am not throwing?
You can definitely come to watch – we have a capacity of 50 in the facility so as long as
you don’t come with an entourage then we will happily serve you a beer and let you
cheer on. With that being said – if there are spectators that put us over capacity…
throwers will always take precedent.
Axes and Beer?? Okay so talk to me about this safety thing.
The whole thing is very safe and structured. Your group is with a highly trained
instructor the entire time. We are proud to say that we have more stringent safety
measures in place than any other axe throwing club in North America, and that shows in
our perfect safety record. For more info, check out our 12-Point Safety Policy here.
So, we should pre-game before this thing?
Please don’t. Customers under the influence of alcohol or other substances will not be
admitted to the facility and will not receive a refund.
Can I bring my own axe?
Sorry amigo. Not here.
Do you guys throw knives?
No. If you’re wondering why she swiped left, this is it right here. We throw two things:
axes and parties.
Do you have leagues?
Yes! Registration can be found here.
Do you have Gift Certificates?
Yes! Gift Certificates can be purchased in person during business hours.
